Sad news of the death of this memorable Dutch actress who was the 'screen face' of the popular 'Emmanuelle' books:

One point of interest in the Independent obituary is the naming of the author of the books as Louis-Jacques Rollet-Andriane, a diplomat.

Very sorry to hear about this. A certain kind of glamour passes from this world with her.

RIP. I cant count how many times I watched the first 2 Emmanuelle films on late night cable back in the 80's. I have an original 4' X 5' French movie poster of the first film as well.
The diplomat wrote the book Emmanuelle but they published it under the name Emmanuelle Arsan, which they said was his wife's, Marayat Rollet-Andriane, pen name. He was afraid the writing of erotica would damage his diplomatic career. Marayat also starred in the film 'Laure' aka 'Forever Emmanuelle', acting under the name Emmanuelle Arsan. All of this is discussed in a featurette on the dvd release of 'Laure'.

I acquired and read Ms Krystal's memoir just a short while ago - and a little while later I happened on a documentary she made around the time of the release of the book.
Both made for some very nostalgic thoughts, taking me back to my misspent youth, as her films were often to be viewed from the back seat of the car in the back of the drive-in.
