Here's an odd one. I believe this venue was added through the Venue linking feature:

http://www.librarything.com/venue/90969/EUGENE-PUBLIC-LIBRARY

Clinton, MS has 2 public libraries, neither called "Eugene Public Library":
http://www.yellowpages.com/clinton-ms/public-library

The venue address is mapped as a lovely single detached home on Google Maps:
https://goo.gl/maps/1YmID

The Harper Collins event website shows an event at this address at a venue called Eugene Public Library: http://www.harpercollins.com/author/tour.aspx?authorID=38601

I'm inclined to believe that Clinton doesn't have a public library located in a private home -- which leads me to conclude that Harper Collins has made an error.

Anyone else want to weigh in? I was about to delete the venue record, but on sober second thought, decided to see if anyone could thing of anything I might have overlooked.

It's also odd that it shows the same author event on two different dates. Okay, in Chicago it's not unusual for an author to make multiple appearances (though rarely at the same place). But in Clinton, MS?

ETA: the author's own website shows that he is at the Eugene Public Library, in Eugene, Oregon on March 27, and in Dallas on April 2.

HarperCollins' website does, indeed, err in saying that the Eugene Public Library is in Clinton, but it does have the correct info for the author's April 2 event, so I don't know why it's showing up on this erroneous venue.

Good sleuthing, lilithcat! I'll delete the venue. Sounds like HarperCollins might benefit from some QA on their events list.

Their events list is a mess! The main Powell's store in Portland has a small theater space, where they host author events almost daily. The HarperCollins events are often listed as being at Powell's warehouse, which is a few blocks away and is not open to the public. Maybe because they ship the books there?

When I saw the Eugene event above, I immediately thought that the Eugene Public Library was probably in Eugene, Oregon.

I find that a lot of these automatic event listings from publishers are a mess. Often, they are lacking in necessary information, such as the time and place.
