Anybody still up for continuing the challenge? I'll continue to post the monthly threads if no one minds, although there's only a few left! Feel free to leave a comment about Doctor Sleep, the sequel to The Shining.

thanks! I appreciate the opportunity to post :)

I started Doctor Sleep a couple days ago, just after finishing NOS4A2. I got a chuckle when the bad guy from that book was mentioned!

This was a very good book: scary. King did an excellent job with suspense.

I'm just getting started with Doctor Sleep. I chuckled at the bad guy from NOS4A2being mentioned too!

I had never read The Shining, so when I was able to get the audiobook of Doctor Sleep at our Friends of the Library sale last year, I read The Shining and then listened to Doctor Sleep. Both were absolutely wonderful, although of the two I preferred Doctor Sleep.

It was great rereading The Shining before reading Doctor Sleep. I was really pleased with the sequel and all the ways he tied them together.

I'm trying to decide what my next Stephen King project should be. Should I try to tackle the increasingly large pile of unread King tomes that I've purchased and haven't read (From a Buick 8, Cell, 11/22/63, etc.), or should I reread The Shining (which I own) and then read Doctor Sleep (which I can check out from the library)? Halp!!!

You should read 11/22/63 first. That's my favorite from your list. The Shining and Doctor Sleep will be good in the fall or winter. Happy reading!

I loved 11/22/63 and agree with PaperbackPirate.

Hey, I love SK, but I will have to admit I haven't read any of his in a long time. His book are great. I think last one I read was maybe the tower series, I got really upset when he would stop writing then start up again, then I would have to reread the book I got so tired of it I never finished. I guess what I'm saying is he's a good author

You know I had to give King a break from my reading, but I haven't forgotten him. His latest book. I have not read but they sound good; I guess I'm going to have to get back in the saddle. It all started with the Tower series, I guess I got tired of having to stop and reread books over again. Later

SPOILER ALERT:

While I didn't 'feel' the 'battle' scene I enjoyed the book as a whole. I appreciated how Danny matured and became a better person.
