Please take a guess.

Lethal weapons of choice for some.
They're rarely worthy a large sum.
Long, sharp and shiny.
Their hilts look lovely.
Pens are mightier than them.

A most excellent guess noble knight. Yet I parry.
My word is not épée.

I defended the Plantagenet kings of old.
On three legs I stand, side on.
My head is turned to face attack.
The king of beasts I am not.

Jacob offered me a hint. He said,

"This war was fought in late Summer.
Muslims won back their land after.
It was a castle
That caused the battle
Ended the Knights Templar."

You are indeed a formidable opponent. An excellent guess.
But, it is not the name of that fortress in Syria.

Not: Arwad or Ruad; and not sword.

I hunt by night looking for prey.
A favourite with strippers and whores.
My bones sometimes crushed to cure the faithful.
Or, a trophy for aristocrats to hang on their wall.

Nor is it Jacob's Ford. ;)

Buddha, Krishna and Jesus have
been called this.

Enchanting yellow arms of the shiny sun
Entangling theirs to warm them up
As the world sings La Vie En Rose
The smell of youth, and fun.

Nice try. But, my word is not Lord.

NB: I am pronouncing 'Record' as a noun. Not a verb. "To play a record from your record collection". I hope that this helps.

My next clue will be posted here on Friday - assuming nobody has discovered my word before then.

You have riddled me into madness. Please send me a private message with the answer, so as not to spoil the game for the others. ;)

My hint wasn't about the word disturb.

More than one willing follower.
Watchful shepherd is their leader.
They keep some at ease
and make others freeze.
Outliers need not enter.

My word is not herd.

My hearing is perfect, yet some call me Def.
They tell me my markings can't alter.
I love climbing trees just to spy on the herd,
or, fishing in wide open water.

For ladies who needed for real
It won't suffice to seal the deal
She is only seeking men
To wet her feather pen
So it's enough for appeal

A linguistic unit, oft used by Crambonians?

I see what you are hinting at. But, it's not the building block of sentences themselves. Not word.

Feathered with two legs and two wings
In the sky, he dances and sings
Early to confirm
He finds a nice worm
Most straight men have this thing

My word is not the Aves class of vertebrates.
"Bird, bird, bird, b-bird's NOT the word"
(nor is it 'word' either!) ;)
herd, lord, ford, or sword.

Worn as a cape around the chest
The men of the church have great pride.
But my pride wear their coats from birth
And use their colours to hide.

Is it ridiculous to say people can still learn to have perfect pitch at age 40?

I've heard that singing in the shower may be the answer. But, not for this game.
Not vocal 'cord'.

What Camus would describe Sisyphus, a mythical figure who spends eternity rolling a huge rock up a steep mountain side, only to push it back down the same hill when he reaches to the top.

Your guess is absurd.

In fiction I'm Phango, Tai Lung; or, Bagheera, Sabor.
I can think of no others; so, can tell you no more.

Those fictional figures seem awfully powerful and frightening to me. According to Kierkegaard, the paradoxical nature of the religious doctrines requires the seekers of truth to take a leap of faith, as it is the only way to know God. For atheists and agnostics, taking this leap is tantamount to walking across an old log bridge at night in total darkness. They often experience this strong emotion, in past tense.

*knock knock*
Is anyone available to finish playing Crambo with me?
