I'll be travelling to NYC in a few weeks and want to go to a theater production or two. I love musicals and have a love LOW tolerance for violence. Otherwise, I am open to anything live (musical or not). Here is a listing of what seems to be available, so many I do not know how to choose.
I've seen Wicked, Chicago, STOMP and Cats. Not interested in Phantom of the Opera.
Inclined towards A Bronx Tale and The Play that Goes Wrong ( I LOVE Noises Off) and Come From Away. Or maybe NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812, Bandstand, Oslo.
Help! Any opinions or advice would be welcome. If I am sensible, I'll go for 2 performances, but might try to go for 3.

Okay, forget Hamilton. It's practically impossible to get a ticket, particularly at such short notice. However, they do have a lottery: https://lottery.broadwaydirect.com/show/hamilton/ Probably worth entering, because the show is amazing. Everything you've heard about it is true.
If you can get a ticket for Der Rosenkavalier, I would do so. It's Renée Fleming's swan song.
I saw War Paint here in Chicago; I was not impressed. The music was pretty forgettable, and Patti Lupone's heavy accent made her quite difficult to understand. However, others disagree with me, so you may, too!
Personally, I'd go see Indecent; the story appeals to me.
When, exactly, are you going to be in New York? The Met production of Eugene Onegin has gotten good reviews; you might try for that if it's still on when you go.
If you can get a ticket for Der Rosenkavalier, I would do so. It's Renée Fleming's swan song.

For theater going purposes, I'll be there May 7-11. I'll look into Der Rosenkavlier and skip War Paint. Indecent wasn't even my radar, must go check. I'm inclined toward Oslo and The Play That Goes wrong at this point.

I'll probably use TodayTix app, I'll be in training near Penn station until 6 pm each day, think it'd be tough to wait in line for tickets. Der Rosenkavlier is not available via the app right now, but I'll keep checking and try alternate methods, too.
Indecent does sound interesting, but I'm a little concerned about my tolerance for violence, it is not clear if that part of the original play is included. I'll definitely keep it in the mix.

Hmm. I think I'll get a ticket for Der Rosenkavalier at a local move theater the day after I get back. I think it is too long a performance for a week night. THanks for the heads up, lilithcat
