Long Bright River: A Novel by Liz Moore

(Philadelphia/police procedural/two sisters/drug abuse)

I am rereading Clouds of Witness via audiobook, narrated by Ian Carmichael. For me, he is the perfect narrator for Sayers' books!

Getting ready to start my next crime read: What You Pay For, by Claire Askew. I really liked her previous book, All the Hidden Truths, and am hoping this one is good too.

Quite enjoyed this one: Moriarty by Anthony Horowitz. Clever and entertaining.

finishing up Macbeth by Jo Nesbo and starting Gang of Lovers by Massimo Carlotto.

I finished my reread of The Thief of Time by Tony Hillerman. Not the best book in the Leaphorn/Chee series but still above average. 3.5*

I finished Felo de Se by R. Austin Freeman - one of the better entries in the Dr. Thorndyke series.

A Dangerous Man by Robert Crais

(Cole and Pike series/private investigators/foiled kidnapping intrigue)

A friend loaned me Where the Crawdads Sing; generally I shy away from celeb book club recommendations (evidently Reese Witherspoon loved it); so do I! To me, it reads like a slightly more contemporary To Kill A Mockingbird.

I'm working my way through this series, set in Yorkshire post WWI, and really enjoying it. Murder in the Afternoon by Frances Brody

Added Broken Glass by Alexander Hartung to my reading rotation.

American Dirt (Oprah's Book Club): A Novel (4+ stars)
by Jeanine Cummins

I thought that Medusa, the 9th Aurelio Zen book, was similar to some of the earlier books in style & in the way Zen solves the case. For me, that was good :)

Downloaded the audio version of The Wildling Sisters as my first ever audio library loan. So far so good although a little fey in parts.

Just started Miss Kopp's Midnight Confessions...this series continues to be very entertaining.

I finished Black Diamond by Martin Walker - the 3rd book in an enjoyable mystery series set in the Périgord region of France.

I’m reading my latest LTER, A Divided Loyalty by Charles Todd. It was a little slow to get going, but I’m all in now.

Reading Crime Fiction: A Reader's Guide by Barry Forshaw. Highlighting lots of new-to-me authors and books. My TBR pile is bound to increase :)

Starting Murder By An Aristocrat, by Mignon G. Eberhart.

I'm reading Treasure by Clive Cussler (1988). Haven't read Cussler in a long time... some clunky writing, but overall a page turner with little descriptive violence which suits me just fine.

Next up in crime and thriller reading: In Her Wake, by Amanda Jennings.

Started A Man Lay Dead. She appears to have invented Human Cluedo years before it's time.

I’ve started A Shilling for Candles by Josephine Tey.

Reading another Clive Cussler... Arctic Drift (2008) written with Dirk Cussler. Another page turner, lots of action, lots of adventure, minimally described violence. Thumbs up!

I finished End of Chapter by Nicholas Blake. Nice mystery set at a small publishing house in London.

Now I am reading Mew is for Murder…

(Nick Heller series/Boston intel investigator/opioid abuse/whistleblowers)

I really liked Knife by Jo Nesbo-the latest in the Harry Hole series.

I finished Cross by Ken Bruen tonight-I really like this series-enjoyed the TV version as well.

I finished the delightful A Shilling for Candles and I’m looking forward to reading more by Josephine Tey.

Took a chance on one from the 25-cent rack: Nun Plussed by Monica Quill; a cozy that doesn't insult one's intelligence...yet :)

Finished Broken Glass by Alexander Hartung. Meh.

I've just finished an Italian crime thriller, The Patience of the Spider by Andrea Camilleri, one of the Inspector Montalbano series. A bit disappointing, probably because it's a translation and because I saw the TV adaptation first.

Just managed to finish another book right before the end of the month! I enjoyed Kingdom of the Blind by Louise Penny.

I finished Bank Shot - my first book by Donald Westlake. I found it funnier in concept than in practice but liked it enough that I would read more by this author.
