Display LT time somewhere, please.

I was waiting to find my Santee in LT's Secret Santa.
Now, I live in Australia and know we are almost a day ahead, time wise. But specifically? And with daylight saving?

May I suggest you add LT time at the very bottom of the home page together with all the other stuff one only looks at now and again (hmm some
interesting stuff there!)

Good suggestion.

(For reference, the head office is US Eastern Time, presently GMT -7. That difference will be constant for the next few months, including all of SantaThing and CardThing.)

Yes! That would be very practical, especially with deadlines and stuff.

Back when local time was started, I opted to keep my displays on LT time. Never regretted it.

>2 karenb: I believe Eastern Standard time is GMT -5.

It is now 12:00 noon in Vienna, and 6:00 am LT time. We are GMT +1 here.

karenb (#2):

US Eastern Time is currently UTC-5. During Daylight Savings time in the US summer it is UTC-4. At no point is it UTC-7. (Using UTC as the offset is generally the standard, but the time in GMT is always UTC+0 so it's okay.)

https://time.is/da/ET

Only problem is that when LT is down you cannot see this link :-)

If you want it in English rather than Danish:

https://time.is/en/ET

etc.

And if for some reason the rest of the web is down, but LT is still up:

https://www.librarything.com/log_helpers.php

The Helpers Log page shows what the current hour in EST is.
