I accidentally posted this in Book Talk, so I'll try again and hope it ends up in This is Halloween. Does anyone have any suggestions for funny Halloween books or movies? I'm a big fan of Charles Addams.

Well, I enjoy watching the movie, Halloween With The Addams Family. It has the original cast members in it. Maybe you could try to get a copy from your local Video Store or from E-Bay.

Of course, there is always the great classic. It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.

I haven't seen Halloween with the Addams Family yet. I must get it! The Charlie Brown one is a favorite of mine too.

Hocus Pocus is great, and if you have really young kids, I remember that Garfield had a Halloween special.
My favorite Halloween special is Disney's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow with Bing Crosby as the narrator.

I enjoyed Hocus Pocus, tho I haven't seen it in a long time. That reminds me there's a movie called The Witches, with Rowan Atkinson in it. has anyone seen it?
I'll definately have to check out the Disney Sleepy Hollow. I don't have kids but I originally was into Halloween when I was a kid so I still like children's Halloween stuff as well.

The tagmash for halloween, humor has list of mostly children's stuff but some adult. Note that it's slight different from halloween, humour.

I saw you already mentioned The Nightmare Before Christmas which has some hilarious moments in another thread but that was first move to spring to mind.

For the so bad it's funny category, I don't think you can go wrong with Halloween III. Yeah, the one with the masks (and without Michael Myers).

Almost forgot, Spielberg's Monster House takes place on Halloween and it's very good.
I'm with you, Katbear, I love the kids Halloween stuff.

I wondered if Monster House was good. I'll have to watch that one.

I just watched Hocus Pocus a few days back, and it was as much fun as I remembered. I too want to check out Monster House, and It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown will forever be one of my favorites.
