Here, in this topic, we will share memories while reading books. I remember one time, I was in Hawaii, and I was reading The Odyssey(i never finished it though, but i like it) and this HUGE blue and yellow bird (no, it was not a parrot) flew up and sat on the porch railing and watched me. I started to read aloud and it sat there and listened for about fifteen minutes. It was so cool!!!

Any interesting memories? Share them!!!

Oh my gosh this is the coolest group name ever! And what a lovely topic.

I remember one time when I was young, I was reading Jane Eyre over the weekend for my literature class on Monday. I had to finish the entire book, and to make it worse, I don't usually like books like Jane Eyre. So I sat in the living room and read. I became so engrossed in the story that I didn't even notice when my mom and grandmum joined me in the room. Apparently they called my name a good few times before I even heard or acknowledged their presence. It felt like I was coming out of a trance. It was the first time I experienced the power of a story to whisk you away from your reality and take you into itself, so that the environment around you disappears and all that exists is the story. And all this with a book I normally wouldn't touch! I always remember that incident and how it taught me the power of a good book.
