Where They Lived.

Although 8 Fitzroy Sq is gone along with many other of the Bloomsbury Groups London homes there are still a few residents left that are open to the public and several that are private residences . One in particular Lytton & Carringtons "The Mill at Tidmarsh" still exists and has recently been put on the market ! .. care to purchase it?.. If you do buy this property please invite me to the house warming as I have always wanted to visit.

I plan on visiting Charleston Farmhouse next May as well as Monks House and Sissinghurst/Knole.

What more can there be said about the Bloomsbury Homes?. Is John and Lydia Keynes Tilton still standing ?.. Roger Frys Durbin? .. Have you visited any of these and something caught your eye you would like to share ?

When you visit Charleston Farmhouse, you will pass near Tilton, which is now inhabited by Keynes's biographer, Robert Skidelsky. It is not open to the public. Nearby, in the Firle churchyard, you will find the graves of Vanessa Bell, Duncan Grant and Quentin Bell. In the same area, east of Charleston, you will find Berwick Church, where murals were painted by these three. At Monks House you can take the walk out to the Ouse, Virginia Woolf's last walk. Thank You dh1515. The Berwick Church I certainly do want to visit as well as the Firle Church Yard . I was taking a "drive" the other day through Firle ( via Google Maps- Road view ) but didn't have any luck finding the churchyard. I did however "drive" from Firle to Rodmell to Monks house . Google Driving is good practice for the real thing, plus fuel is considerably cheaper :)
