- About the Esquimalt Branch:
The Esquimalt Branch keeps growing in size. The new Esquimalt Branch which opened on May 15, 2003 was designed by Vic Davies Architect Ltd. and built by Wales McLelland Construction. The new Esquimalt Branch faces the Town Square at the back of the new Esquimalt Municipal Hall. It is 8,600 square feet on one level, with extra space for more Internet computers, collections and for the public to use for reading and studying. There's also a new children's program room to beckon children into storytimes and other programs.
The previous Esquimalt Branch officially opened on April 16, 1985. It was designed by Marshall Goldsworthy and Associates and built by Marvet Construction Ltd. It took the place of an even older branch, which had been in the Esquimalt Plaza since 1969. - Toegevoegd door

The citizens of Victoria - supposedly among the most book-passionate in Canada - are completely without public library access, and all because management steadfastly refuses to honour its previous promise, made in 1992, to observe pay equity.
If you go to the website noted at the top of this listing, you can read the management version of the picture.
