- Evergreen Park Library (www.evergreenparklibrary.org) serves a diverse community of 21,000. Evergreen Park borders the southwest side of Chicago, about a 20 minute drive from downtown. Evergreen Park Library belongs to a large metropolitan system of over 70 public libraries, and because our suburb borders the city, our author events draw an audience not only from Evergreen Park, but from Chicago and surrounding south suburbs. Evergreen Park has hosted a number of best-selling author events in the past: most notably Temple Grandin; Philippa Gregory; Lisa See; Karin Slaughter; Steve Berry; Sara Paretsky; Lisa See; Lauren Willig; Jeff Zaslow; Erik Larson; and Gregory Maguire. Through experience, we have developed an organized and effective system of promotion and presentation for our signings that hopefully makes for a pleasant and worthwhile experience for our visiting author.
