Dark, Bad, Fun

Moonlight and Magnolias Conference is the highlight of Georgia Romance Writers programming, and this year’s conference promises to be filled with lots of learning, opportunities to connect with authors, agents, editors and readers, and just plain fun!

Beginning Thursday evening with a Pizza and Movie night, participants who have signed up will have an opportunity to see two great movies beginning at 7:30 pm:

Romancing the Stone and The Proposal

Friday begins a full day of learning, beginning with Cold Reads, our highly popular Pitch Workshop, opportunity to meet agents and editors on an appointment basis, and our afternoon workshop with Tami Cowden, who will present “The 16 Hero Archetypes”.

Dianna Love will speak at our Welcome Reception, which features appetizers and a cash bar. After an “on-your-own” dinner, come back and join the PRO members’ Friday night workshop “Story Boards and Sounding Boards”. Fabulous door prizes, coffee and dessert provided (sponsored by the Petit Fours and Hot Tamales bloggers).

Saturday morning begins bright and early with a continental breakfast and welcome by our president, Berta Platas. She’ll kick off a morning filled with workshops to meet the needs of writers at every stage in their career.

Sherrilyn Kenyon is our Keynote speaker at the M&M luncheon.

After an afternoon of more wonderful workshops, join our published authors for a Book Fair and Autographing Party (plenty of author baskets and other items will be raffled off!)

Saturday night is the much heralded Maggie Presentation, where we get a chance to dress up (dark, bad, or fun) and honor our published and unpublished Maggie Award winners! (Oh, and we get to dance all night, too!)

Not enough? Join us on Sunday morning after a continental breakfast for multi-published authors Mary Buckham and Dianna Love’s special workshop, Break Into Fiction. Don’t be late, there are door prizes at this workshop!

No matter where you are on your career path, this year’s Moonlight and Magnolias Conference will give you the tools to move you to the next level.

So come prepared to learn, have fun, and mingle with your fellow writers!
