High school reunions are a time of remembrance of missed opportunities and puppy dog crushes. In Liz Gardner case, she wanders into a chat room where surprisingly the men are speculation on who she had sex with and where she ended up. Most of the story revolves around Liz’s dysfunctional family, multiple affairs by family members, and concludes with marriage and birth of a daughter. The author did a fine job of portraying how casually people will commit to each other in the throbs of lust, but will quickly move on to others when opportunities arise. The characters are shallow and lack remorse for the pain and suffering their actions caused. ( )

Liz Gardner is trying to live her life, and she does it right in your face. Funny upbeat and snarky book about a young woman who wantd to be an actress and all of her exploits (sexual and otherwise) are laid bare for all. Quirky characters like her mother Radiance, make this book a funny and entertaining read. Not a bad way to spend a day in the sun. ( )

The length of this book was a bit daunting at first (512 pages), but for me it flew by. I was immediately immersed in the character of Liz Gardner. She is a Jewish woman who stumbles across the question Who got Liz Gardner. The rest of the story flashes back over her life and is basically a narrative of her finding out who exactly she is and how she became that person. She lives a life of sexual exploration, and ultimately finds out that to find the man she will marry she must put that kind of life behind her and prepare herself for her future husband. I was sucked in and read the book quite quickly. Great read. Even though it's long, it's very easy to read and flies by. ( )

After logging into her high school's alumni chat room, Liz's memory is sparked by the discussion of who "got" Liz Gardner. We go back in time and are introduced to Liz's relationships both with her family and boyfriends. We get a glimpse into what makes Liz tick and how she got to be the person she is in the present. A good read, but definitely for a mature audience. ( )
