A regency romance WITH vampires! A Definite Guilty Pleasure! (and also alot of fun!) (

Let me start off by saying that I read this book not knowing it was the second book in the series. (If I had known, I definitely would have read them in order)

This wasn't my first historical romance, and definitely not my first vampire novel. Combined though, it was great. I love the details such as the classic refinery and personal descriptions.

The story was fluid and consistent and I felt like I was really there. The elegance was remarkable and the drama unfolded perfectly. Looking back, the only reason I gave it four stars was because I missed some of the minor details and back story by not reading the first book. Perfectly fine as a standalone book, however. (

I love how this novel is cleverly overlaid with the first novel in the series. It was great to see how different events were effecting different characters at the same it. Dimitri and Maia's adventure was just as exciting, if not a little bit more at times. (
