There wasn't any angst and not a whole lot of character development. Not great writing, not poor writing. Went along nicely but nothing to really rave about. ( ) MILLION-DOLLAR AMNESIA SCANDAL is a Mills & Boon Desire presentation by Australian Author Rachel Bailey. We were briefly introduced to Seth Kentrell, previously in Rachel Bailey’s At the Billionaire’s Beck and Call, where he and his step-brother, the hero Ryder Bramson were clashing over the chairmanship of the company their late father split between them. The Book Blurb reads: Truth, Lies and Seduction... An accident left April Fairchild with no memory, ownership of a multi-million dollar hotel and the nagging sense something wasn't quite right in her life. It also brought her intensely sexy businessman Seth Kentrell, whose late brother had left her the property. Seth believed her a gold digger - and how could April deny it, when she couldn't even remember her name? Now Seth was ready to play hardball to get the hotel back. But April knew enough to refuse to sign over the property until her memory returned. And if that meant Seth needed to persuade her... well, that was something she could enjoy! At least until the whole truth came out... My Review: April Fairchild wakes up in hospital eight days after the accident in which Seth’s younger brother perished. She had no recollection of anything, not even her name. Seth believes she is faking as she is now the owner of one of his hotel which his dead brother left her. He whisks her off to The Lighthouse Hotel to help jog her memory. Staying in such close proximity to April tests his self-control as there is the acknowledged attraction between them which in April’s words, “…is problematic!” It’s problematic for Seth because April could’ve been his dead brother’s lover and problematic for April, because she can’t remember! And Seth had the added tension to have the hotel transferred back to the company so he could have ammunition to fight for the company’s chairmanship, while April declined to sign it over because she couldn’t remember why she wanted it in the first place. This couple deserved their happy ending because each of them in their own way was strong, strong enough to endure whatever came their way. It’s as much a story about recovering from grief and self-discovery as it is about the unquenchable desire between Seth and April. This is a story I thoroughly enjoyed, it kept me turning pages late into night with its captivating blend of drama, passion, emotional tension, intrigue and romance. MILLION-DOLLAR AMNESIA SCANDAL is fast-paced and feel-good romance that sparkles with red-hot sensuality, mesmerizing emotion and intense passion. It’s a wonderfully written and richly layered love story from author Rachel Bailey. Note: although this book is linked to earlier books, it stands alone - you don't need to have read the other books to be able to read this one. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
