This practical handbook presents Shakti Gawain's definition of prosperity, one that places importance on the fulfillment of our real desires rather than the amount of money we have. I love Shakti Gawain. This is my third book to read of hers. She is very grounded in her writing so it doesn't come across as all hokey. she explores three perspectives on prosperity that people usually adhere to and then she breaks them down into what is positive and negative about each one. she then takes the best from each perspective to create a new perspective. she encourages the reader to delve deep into their own psyche to find their fears, habits and beliefs. there are some exercises in the book. i have only started on a few of them and i have already found them to be supremely enlightening and helpful. at the end of the book there is a chapter of questions that people have asked her with her answers and then the final chapter shares stories from other people and their experiences in transforming their own experience. this was a very inspirational book and i highly recommend it geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
-- The powerful and effective techniques first offered in Creating True Prosperity are now available in this easy-to-use workbook to help readers design their own blueprint for abundance In Creating True Prosperity, personal-growth pioneer Shakti Gawain presented a new definition of prosperity, one that places importance on the fulfillment of the heart and soul rather than on monetary gain. In The Creating True Prosperity Workbook, she gives readers a practical companion to help them integrate this new concept into their lives. Shakti believes that most people, regardless of their wealth, experience a lack of prosperity -- what she defines as having enough of what we truly need. With this in mind, she examines the pitfalls of monetary wealth and how it does not necessarily lead to happiness and prosperity. Her approach is fresh and original; she dismantles the cause-and-effect relationship that most people construct around money and happiness, and she challenges us to truly pay attention to our longings, follow them to their roots, and separate them from false desires or addictions. In her own unique and stimulating way, Shakti explores and contrasts three traditional philosophies about wealth and prosperity: materialism, the transcendent spiritual viewpoint, and the popular New Age approach. She borrows from and acknowledges all three, but comes to a new definition in which money is a mirror -- a reflection of energy and consciousness in every individual's life. Going beyond the conventional preoccupation with money, Shakti puts together a convenient and organized system to help the reader examine his or her relationship with money. She explains how money can be a teacher-- showing where one needs to develop more balance in one's life. Based on Shakti's popular book, this large-format workbook is simple, fun, and effective, involving the reader step-by-step in many exercises, meditations, affirmations, and other techniques that actually produce powerful changes.
