It's amusing and fun when the plot is moving, which it often isn't. It works well as far as the mystery is concerned, but not so well dramatically. The fact that those are two separate things pretty well sums up why I'm not an Agatha Christie fan. This is certainly the best adaptation of any of her mysteries and the cast can never be bettered: Albert Finney as Hercule Poirot, as well Wendy Hiller, Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman (who won an Oscar for the performance), John Gielgud, Richard Widmark, Sean Connery, John Gielgud, Vanessa Redgrave, Michael York and Anthony Perkins.
