However, the plot got more interesting about halfway through. ( ) This book was not the best book I've ever read, and I'm kinda sorry that I downloaded it. I think the problem is that the relationship is too fast-paced and way too intense for my liking. Trevor really has the "I'm-a-bad-boy-and-I'll-do-as-I-please" persona down to a fine art. But it's Lily that I'm disappointed in. In the beginning, the author introduces her as a somewhat shy (and independent!) young woman. Vivacious. Full of dreams. And then all of a sudden, she's hanging on to this low-life pathetic excuse of a man. First guy to notice her in college and she's ready to give up the world for him. Really?? I have no intention of reading book two unless it falls out of the night sky onto my lap, but I sincerely hope that the author does a better job executing her work and I also hope that Justin somehow re-enters Lily's life because I think she should have given him a fairer chance. There's a reason for the expression: Never judge a book by its cover. This story line proves that. This book was not the best book I've ever read, and I'm kinda sorry that I downloaded it. There's a reason for the expression: Never judge a book by its cover. This story line proves that. I just finished this book and I thought it was okay. I'm glad it was a free book, because it was not good enough to buy. At first I thought this book was gonna be really good. The beginning had a great start to it, and I was able to connect to Lily. I liked how it took place in college, and the main character was twenty. The writing was very simple, and an easy read. I agree with someone on Amazon. Someone said the writing was amateurish. It was kinda predictable, which isn't always bad for books. I don't know. I did like the book. I was gonna give this book a higher score, until I got to the point when Lily married Trevor. I really didn't want her to, because it was way too rushed in their relationship. I liked her friend Alyssa. I was disappointed about Justin. I loved Justin. He was such a nice guy to Lily, but of course she doesn't feel the same way about him. Just like the overused YA plot, she has to fall for the other guy, the one who doesn't treat her as good as Justin. I was mad that Justin just got over Lily so fast, and went out with another girl. I did like that he wanted to stay friends with her. To be honest, I hated Trevor since the beginning of the book. I knew he wasn't right for her. Lily knew she wasn't ready to get married, so why did she marry him? She should have listened to the messages she got, telling her to stay away from Trevor. Trevor was so mean and abusive. I don't blame Lily for trying to escape. I won't tell you what happens in the end, because I don't wanna spoil the whole thing. I did enjoy reading this book, because the writing was simple. If your wondering if the book has a love triangle, there really isn't one. Lily doesn't like Justin the way he likes her, so there is no love triangle. This book was okay, wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. That's why I gave this book 3 stars. I don't really recommend it. If you wanna read it that's fine, because it's free on kindle. Just don't have high hopes for this book. Just to let you know, this book is about an abusive relationship. I didn't know that, until I read reviews. If you are not comfortable reading about abusive husbands, then don't read this book. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
