This back-and-forth dialogue between a wide-awake kiddo and a sleepy mama is hilariously realistic. The kiddo's font is in black; mama's is dark blue small caps. Definitely going to try this out at Pajama Storytime! ( )

This is an example of a very patient mother who is trying to sleep, but her child is wide awake far too early in the morning. Very cute illustrations. ( )

Are You Awake? is a cute children's book about a little boy, Edward, who can't fall asleep and keeps asking his mother questions. The whole story is in question-answer format. The book contains beautiful watercolor and ink illustrations. I think that this picture book would be more fitting for children Kindergarten and up, because most of the book is conversational text.

I did not enjoy the story, perhaps it caught me on a bad day. I found the child more annoying than inquisitive.
