This book personified "even" and "odd" in even Steven and odd Todd, two cousins who couldn't be more opposite from one another. Even Steven lived a life of evens, from an even number of pets to an even number of garden sprinklers. He looked like he kept up after himself (formal clothes, a precise haircut) and appearance and that every part of his life was evened out and in order. His cousin, odd Todd, is the complete opposite. Not only is he "odd" in appearance (mismatching patterns on his clothing, long curly hair under a multi-colored hat), but he is odd in his interests, too. I loved the embodiment of this mathematical aspect personified in characters. The book was very entertaining, though I found the storyline to not have an equal amount of purpose. Overall, cute book for children to read thought it lacks educational value in the plot. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

The arrival of Cousin Odd Todd greatly upsets Even Steven who likes everything to come in even numbers, his pets, his library books, and even his pancakes. Includes an activities and games section. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
