Sometimes felt like I was reading about high schoolers instead of adults. ( ) I enjoyed this book 2 in the "heart of Texas" series. Again, I bought this at the local Library Book Sale. I've voluntarily chose to review this and I've given it a 5*. This author touches my heart and I enjoy each one of her stories. Book 2 continues on exploring the characters more and it's connection with the Ghost town. We see more from the bad guy and how things evolve between him and the other characters. Glad that there was a little bit about Savannah and her now husband Laredo which I enjoyed from the first book. Still no resolution to the problems that the brother Richard created earlier but glad how he was a part of this story and the tensions he created. I liked the struggles that occurred with Ellie and Glen trying to stay friends after their very tender kiss. Losing her father then watching her mother pack up and sell the home she grew up in and then moving left Ellie Frasier feeling alone. Having a close friend like Glen Patterson new by helped some, running her fathers feed store helped some, but the sorrow was still there. Now that Ellie had gotten an inheritance, Richard Weston saw opportunity to get some money, move up in his life and drive his brother Grady’s best friend Glen crazy. After being friends for so long, Glen was worried that one kiss would ruin everything they had. Finding that kiss all he could think about and then realizing that she was also seeing Richard was about to make him - crazy. Book 2 ….. I have the whole series now, the first book set up the entire town with characters and their paths. This one just continued in the same way. Got to see more of Savannah, and get to know a few of the others better. The story of Bitter End continues and there is amore set ups made. Another nice and gentle romance with a bit of adventure to add a little suspense. Next up is “Caroline’s Child“, finally going to get to know who the father is. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
