Aaron the dreamy vampire has finally met his match when he meets Sara. Sara can literally bring anyone to their knees and beg for mercy in many ways. Sara has had a very rough life and trusts no one except for Mel, the Queen that she has protected for years and now is protecting Mel from the evil Sherman. Sherman was Mel’s husband and an evil one at that. The connection between Aaron & Sara is just amazing and watching as the characters grow into something more than would ever imagine is intense. Kathi has shown us that we want more about all of the characters in her book. I found myself not putting it down because the magic between Aaron and Sara is meant to be in all ways. I smiled and laughed at so many scenes it was like watching a movie play out. Kathi left us with wanting more and more. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Aaron MacManus, the new master vampire of the realm just wanted to go out and meet some of his subjects and to figure out what needed to be done to set things right. April and Demetrius Carlovetti own an air service and are the most trusted and well liked vampires in Aaron's realm. What he didn't expect when he visited them was betrayal. His own bodyguards try to murder him and blame it on the Carlovetti's. Sara Temple was not a vampire. She pilots planes for the Carlovetti Airways. She had secretes of her own and working for this small air service is keeping her out of sight. The last thing she wanted to do was save a vampire, even an extremely good looking one. Sara was only trying to survive but with Aaron she becomes embroiled in politics, the magic of several realms involving a queen in peril, magical beings, passion and love. Blood, Body and Mind, the first book in the Aaron's Kiss series. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

There was no writing or plot faux-pas that didn't get a blaring hit in this piece. Grammar issues, plot holes, contradictory statements, under-developed characters, under-developed scenes, cringe worthy statements and actions that didn't fit the scene/character/setting, all of the above and then some. Nothing about the characters felt finished, their personalities, appearances, and worst of all their nature and reason for existing in the story to begin with, it was jarring and unpleasant to read from start to (unable-to-)finish. That for me is the single biggest statement. I have NEVER not finished a book, no matter how bad. I have slogged through some bad pieces of fiction in the past, but I literally could not continue with this one. I ended up staring blankly at the screen for a few minutes trying to figure out how much I'd hate myself for leaving it unfinished and when I realized I already hated myself more for forcing my way to chapter 13, 12 far too many by the way, I knew I had to stop and I had to post an honest review.
Normally, if I don't like a book I rate the stars accordingly and don't leave a review. The whole 'not saying anything if you don't have anything nice to say' bit, but I can't in good conscience leave this book with a nearly four star, sorely misleading, ranking and let someone else fall into the same trap.
The summary seemed great, too bad that isn't actually what the book is about. Don't try to make sense out of it, I did and wasted a few hours of my life I desperately wish I could get back.
Truly, save yourself the headache and pass. ( )
