The characters were a bit one dimensional and the ending was a bit too easy to figure out but overall it was still worth the read. Deze bespreking was geschreven voorLibraryThing lid Weggevers. I received this book as a Library Thing giveaway. I liked this book. I would have never guessed the ending. The research of bi-polar disorders laid a strong foundation for the plot line of this story. It seemed to me that with the depth of this research it pulled the story along. I wish that the character of Amy has more depth. It seemed that all we really new about her was her mental disease. I think with a little work this book could go from good to amazing. Deze bespreking was geschreven voorLibraryThing lid Weggevers. I liked the rejection letter it had a good story line and plot but about half way through it I had already identified the killer. I also had the ending figured out before it was even finished. I do like the author though and it just needs a little work to be perfect. I would recommend it to others. It would help if you had someone proof read it better I saw quite a few typos in it. I really enjoyed Amy as a character. I didn’t always understand her motivations, especially before the story really picked up I thought she was as mentally unstable as the serial killer I had yet to meet. As the story goes on though, I started understanding a little more about how Amy thought and what her bipolar condition did to her. The story is told in a way that is totally unpredictable and keeps the reader on the edge of their seat when reading it. I also must admit I loved all the literary-world content; from the rejection letters to the conventions and even the editing house. As an author myself, I identified with the world and enjoyed reading about it immensly. Most of my comments above sum this book up pretty well. It took me a while to get into the book, especially as it starts off with one of the brutal killing scenes and I was kind of reeling from reading that and trying to figure out exactly what was going on. Once I got into the book and had a grip on the characters and started seeing how Amy’s mind worked, I really enjoyed the book. Anyone with even some knowledge about the publishing world knows about the infamous rejection letters, and I think that even an elementary understanding of them is enough to hook a reader into this story, much less someone who understands them or has received a few for him or herself. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone who likes mysteries and thrillers. This book was provided for me by the author at no charge, nor was I given compensation of any kind for this review. Review:
"The Rejection Letter" by Johnny Ray was a good Thriller read for me. I really enjoyed this fast paced novel. I was definitely on edge of my seat turning the pages until the end. Johnny Ray is able to really bring out just what we need in a good romantic thriller. There was a lots of mystery.....who was doing what?.... who done it?....you will be kept wondering up until the very end of this read.
The story is of a person having this disease... bi-polarism. The characters were simply well played and just seeing how Amy's mind worked was really very nteresting to me. There was a serial killer going after literary agents....Amy meet a agent and becomes infuriated ...then receives a rejection letter from this agent ....and the story takes off...Amy is upset and being a unstable person that she is........she seeks revenge....but at the same time.....several agents have died violent deaths..and now with even more twist and turns and just what will happen next? NOW, this is the time I say to you that you will have to pick up "The Rejection Letter" to find out! It has been said: "...hell hath no fury like a woman (or aspiring author) scorned?"
I really did enjoy "The Rejection Letter" and I didn't guess the ending. I was able to learn a little on the research of bi-polar disorder...that laid a well laid foundation of this storyline. If you are in for a good thriller romance about bi-polarism... then I would recommend "The Rejection Letter" for you. ( )
