This book is a great way to brush up on your knowledge of natural science. You would revivify terms as isomorphic and spectroscopy. Great way to spend time. Although this book is a little bit dated, it still caries a huge bundle of information with itself. Actually I love old books on science they explain complicated topics in a very easy and understandable way. But, as I said this book is kinda old. Especially it becomes obvious when at some point in this book author vehemently rejects the idea of light being of corpuscular structure as it was proposed by sir Issac Newton. I might be wrong, but I believe that light was proved to be a wave and particle at the same time by Albert Einstein(relatively recently). ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Invaluable reading for anyone passionate about the history of science, The Advance of Science in the Last Half Century presents a survey of the major developments in physics, chemistry, and biology from the mid to late 1800s. Huxley traces their impact on society and places them in the context of philosophical thought and scientific inquiry going back to Aristotle. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
