Hopkins allows the reader to dive into her novel with little to no knowledge of what Amish life entails, and through this, the reader is able to understand the troubles faced by Noah, one of our protagonists. Hopkins explores the basics of Amish lifestyle, without getting bogged in explaining all the nuisances – leaving more room for the plot to develop and for the characters to develop and grow.

Finished this book in one sitting. I just couldn't put it down. Everything was perfect and beautifully written.
Reading a book set in Melbourne, Australia was different for a change. And I think I loved it for that reason along. Plus the setting is right out my front door. I could clearly imagine where the character were and how they would interact in and around Melbourne town.
The characters were beautifully thought out. Even their flaws just made them seem more real and not too over the top.

I will be reading the next one for sure. I just have to find out what happens next between Alexis and Bryce. ( )
