Saffi March is a post-grad student at age nineteen, studies fish, and is the daughter of a US Senator. She is also totally obsessed with Staffan, a Swedish rock star (I pictured Alexander Skarsgard dancing like Justin Timberlake). Turns out that he is also obsessed with her having come across her FB page during a fan contest.
The two get together though both are lying to each other all the time about pretty much everything. There's a lot of sex scenes with some feeble plotlines trying to tie them together. I don't mind the sex scenes, but these seemed way over the top, especially for a girl who was a virgin when she met him. I get that she was trying to impress him, but it seemed pretty ridiculous for some of the scenarios here.
Also, the author got some basic stuff just wrong: people came on the Mayflower, not Mayfair, a Senator's term is six years so Staffi would have been seven years old when the incident in high school took place causing her father to not get elected, and why would a girl who managed to get on birth control allow a guy who's having sex all over the place still not use a condom to protect her from disease?
I like rockstar stories but this was just okay. ( )
