I'm not sure if this book was shorter than the first book, Charlotte, or if it just seemed that way. It almost seemed as if the story dragged along then was a bit rushed at the end. Still, I enjoyed it and will add further books I this series to my TBR list. I do think the author either needs to do some research or have a better editor (in the event that it was a simple mistake- maybe she started the story one way, then went a different direction). Almack's was NOT a private men's club. ( )

This is my second read of this book and I still enjoyed it so the 5 stars.
Lady Catherine de Bourgh decides it is time that her daughter Anne is married and invites some eligible gentlemen to a house party. At the same time, as the Colllins have left the Hunsford Parsonage, a new vicar arrives.
Can Anne break away from her controlling mother and choose her own destiny. ( )

Seems Karen Aminadra has a knack of keeping me awake reading to all hours !
Release day Party for her newest, Rosings, wouldn't be complete without a read of the book we were celebrating right? and what a treat it is...

All the fun you might imagine when Lady Catherine de Bourghe is a feature! Brace yourself for the confrontations you know will present themselves. But also, a new light shining on her daughter, Anne. A little more action than I'd anticipated, I'll admit. And some insights on their characters that played into the story quite nicely. Rogues to detest a plenty. New character introductions we're left anticipating in future stories.

When her Ladyship's best laid plans for her daughter's marriage go awry, I despaired for Anne. There was no putting the kindle down at that point. Discovering the outcome was more important than sleep!
I'm happy to report an entirely satisfying conclusion that's left me smiling into my pillow :)

Thank you, Karen! Keep writing. What would my dreams be without a Karen Aminadra book to inspire them? ( )
