I was expecting this book to help me disrupt thinking in general, but it was geared towards entrepreneurs. This book is meant to inspire the innovator in all of us, and it does with regard to business. (It did make me think of what I would do as an entreprenuer starting my own company in an already established field) Written in an unexpected and enticing format, I would recommend this read to anyone interested in starting their own business, or looking to change the way their business functions. I am not a self-help book kind of person, but I must admit that this is a book that I think everyone should read at least once in their lives. It is an interactive book, which helps to keep your attention and allows for the reader to completely follow the points that Shayler makes. Overall, a wonderful read and I highly recommend! I was ready for some quick, bulleted-list of "things you are doing wrong" and a follow-up, bulleted list of "things you need to be doing/doing better". I was disappointed in that respect. This is much more of a workbook, meant to guide you through the cubicle-every-day-is-killing-you boredom that happens to the best of us once we start to stagnate. There are lots of empty spaces to actually *do* the work being described/asked, and it leads you from idea to implementation pretty well.It *is* a bit...pop. A little simplified. More like a self-help book than a how-to-do-it. But as a 'disruptor', as something acting as a springboard and brief guide, it isn't so bad. I would probably recommend it to a friend truly stuck in a rut as a 1st option, but am likely to also use these passages myself, eventually. It has some great advice buried in the larger print and quirky layouts. But I like it. Deze bespreking is geschreven voor LibraryThing Vroege Recensenten. I absolutely love this book and have been recommending it to all of my friends. We all need to be disruptive sometimes and this book can change how you look at your life. I have experience in the startup business and this book/workbook was a good, quick read that allows the reader to complete tasks that help your mind generate new ideas and even reevaluate some of your current practices/techniques. If you are just starting a company, take a look at this book you won't be disappointed. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
This book is about disruption. About doing things differently. About having ideas that will change the world. That will at least change your world. It's also about delivering those ideas. Do Disrupt is a workbook that will help you create or refine your business idea and take it from concept to market. It will encourage you to define your customer, identify the competition... and then out-smart them. You'll also find out why you need a chat with your Gran and a tape measure. If you're starting a new business, it's not enough to shake things gently. It's about thinking big. Being innovative. Making a difference. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
