I've had such a long run of good books, I haven't given one star for awhile - I give this score when I don't take to a book and can't persist - disjointed, inconsistent tone - not sure what to say. ( )

I had a hard time getting into this book.I didn't like the characters
I couldn't connect to the story.I feel it is just another book trying
to be like Fifty Shades of Grey and it wasn't working out.I was
really disappointed. ( )

I didn't really enjoy this book. I found it a bit dull, the language took away from the story in my opinion. I also didn't really care for the characters nor did I feel invested in them throughout the story. It's the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. For an erotic romance, I didn't find much of it very erotic. Overall disappointing. I haven't read Fifty Shades of Grey so I can't compare between the two... ( )

Overall:
This book produced a new fictional boyfriend for me, Noah Crawford. Where once I loved Prince Charming, now I fantasize about the words that were written to create a lovely Mr. Crawford.

Then there is Lanie, who is such the perfect female protagonist. She is awe-inspiring. She wants to help her family and love her man. Wow.

I found the writing to be wonderful.

I loved Dez dialogue to Lanie.
‰ÛÏI‰Ûªm breaking you out.‰Û She turned to look me over once again with an approving smile. ‰ÛÏBoyfriend sure did trick you out, huh? I love Lanie‰Ûªs speech about Noah.
‰ÛωÛ_ I guess I knew all along that an actual relationship working out between a billionaire and a simple girl from Hillsboro would be nothing short of a fairy tale, and fairy tales simply don‰Ûªt come true. The problem is that Noah makes me feel like maybe they can. I mean he told me he loves me, so despite my fears, I started to believe things really could work out between us.‰Û

I was worried, on the edge of sit, and laughing out loud. It was a great mix of all life‰Ûªs troubles with a major twist of drama.

Noah and Laine, together, are hot. The passion and their bedding are so steamy.

I was looking for there to be more to this book, possible a book three (hint, hint). But it ended almost perfect. I must admit I wanted the ending to be little different but maybe I can get that wish with a book three. That last chapter was beyond steamy, it was truly smoking. I was fanning myself.

What would be awesome and I thought was kind of hinted is Dez and David. That would be an aggressive relationship were Dez would whoop him sexually and verbally, to the point of speechless and limpness.

This is a must read.

Although different in some aspects, this book was very similar to “Fifty Shades of Gray.” I did not read the first series, however the continuation of the story did not need one to read the series in order. I would have enjoyed the story more if there were more twists and action. I basically knew how the story would play out which led to a quick read, just because. I felt the offensive language was a bit much, however, it seems as though this type of verbiage is becoming the norm in today’s time which I find disturbing. ( )
