A well written book, as usual from Mary, she never disappoints. A book full of mystery, hot sex and adventure, what more can you ask for. However, Mason being a mystery himself only leads Skylar to begin questioning all of the strange things that are happening to her. Skylar Rome is a great character. She is spunky, a bit insecure but a lot tougher than she looks. Mason is very mysterious but very swoony! He protects Skylar even though she doesn't really need protecting. She is quite unknowingly powerful! In this lies the mystery of the book, who or what is Skylar? I thoroughly enjoyed the whole book even thought it ended in a cliffhanger!!! I hate those! I found the story way too predictable and boring that I actually had to push myself to continue reading it. I also had a major issue with the heroine Skylar. She was just so annoying and whinny, not to mention incredibly dependant on everyone. She couldn't make a single decision or do a thing for herself without someone there holding her hand. There's just nothing appealing to me about a weak and feeble protagonist. The romance was also lacking and felt so forced and rushed.
The concept was strong however it was just the poor execution that doesn't make me want to purchase anymore books from this series. (
