We were stationed in Rockland, Maine, and living on Owl's Head peninsula when I read this book. So, sure, I could relate. I would say Elizabeth Ogilvie had the writer's dream-life. All I can say, is...I WANTED HER LIFE! ( ) Of course, this was an island book, so it certainly had that appeal to me......not necessarily the most exciting book I've ever read, but it did give great insight as to how Elisabeth Ogilvie had the perspective to write the island novels that i have enjoyed so much. A fascinating look at a simple, yet difficult way of life, one that i seem destined to try before i exit this world.....or maybe i was there in a previous one.....either way i do not care.....i love islands and thus, i really liked this book! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
