I don't know how he was able to get a fan-fiction short story out so quickly after the release of Hugh Howey's "Sand Omnibus", but Michael Bunker has captured the feel of that book very well.

This is the (very) short story of The Poet and Peary, two very different characters caught up in the rush of the rumor of Danvar being found in the wastes. Good story, good development, and very concise. I'd like to see more of the author's interpretation of Howey's new world. Highly recommended! (
