And here we have a story that's a decent romance, but more of a driver for the whole series. Bethi's power is a very unpleasant one - she dreams her (and the other women's) past lives - and deaths. Lots of deaths. For most of the book, Bethi is barely coherent, as she struggles with the dreams - trying to avoid them by not sleeping, by using (mild) drugs, by physically running away. It makes it hard for her to have a romance. And Luke is dealing with this from the other side - he's trying to take her to safety on a motorcycle, and she's literally falling asleep - and coming way too close to falling off the bike. Bethi knows a lot about the overall structure of things, but has to learn about the way things are going here and now; what she knows tells the werewolves a lot more about who and what their enemies are. The arc of the series - the point of these young women existing - becomes clear in this book, and now they know the next steps, and some of what the threats are. I do want to read the rest of the series - and I really want to read Luke's POV on this one! ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

HTML: The dreams start, and Bethi's very normal life goes down the toilet. She soon realizes the dreams are actually memories from past lives... and not just hers. She sees the lives of other women like her. The recalled memories follow the same terrifying pattern: Dog-men chase her, and she sees her eventual tormented death. Learning from the past, Bethi sets out to find a way to live this time around. The dreams hint at an answer. She needs to be strong enough to find it or die... again. .Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
