The 25 items in this easy to follow craft book all have a folk artsy look. They are simple to sew and applique with beginner sewing and embroidery stitches. Some of the projects are intended for home decorating, some for children's rooms or toys. The materials would be readily available. My thanks to the author and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. Inspired by the glorious colors and patterns of designer Kaffe Fasett, the projects in this book can mostly be completed without use of a sewing machine. Many projects have a modernized approach to folk art, featuring elephants, birds, and trees. Certain to appeal to multiple generations of stitchers at various skill levels. Review copy received via NetGalley.com. Recommended. (138) I really love this beautiful book. I am no sewer, although I do enjoy crafting, but this book is quite inspirational. I am sure that even I could produce something lovely following the author's instructions and I will definitely try my hand at some of these projects. There are smaller things such as applique and butterflies to help build confidence and bigger projects such as pillows. The author also includes ideas for extending your skills once you feel confident enough. A nice little book to suit the beginner and a lovely addition for my craft shelf. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

That being said, it's a great book for beginners who want to learn to sew for the home (which to me is easier because you don't have to worry about fit issues like you would in making, say, a dress).
