I received Sex, Ties and Videotape from the author through the Goodreads M/M Romance Group’s ‘Don’t Buy My Love’ program for an honest review.

The story is told in third person through the eyes of both Geoffrey and Paul.


Sex, Ties and Videotape is an extremely quick read, somewhere around thirty pages. The story jumps right into the middle of the action with Geoffrey drowning his sorrows at a bar after his breakup with his ex-boyfriend Brian from a few weeks back. Not a nice guy, Brian posted a sex video on YouTube of Geoffrey. Paul, Brian’s friend, or rather now ex-friend, hated what Brian did to Geoffrey. Paul has wanted Geoffrey for a very long time and wants to prove to Geoff that he’s nothing like Brian. Only Geoff needs special handling because of what happened with Brian.

It turns out that Geoff and Paul are a good fit. Geoff is submissive in bed and Paul is a Dom, they seem to confine these roles only to the bedroom. Part of the problem with Geoff and Brian was that Brian didn’t want to be dominant and his revenge for Geoff asking, was to make the video. Paul is very protective of Geoff to the point of not being able to control his anger when he sees Brian hanging around. At the end we see a change in Brian, but we don’t ever find out what caused him to change.

Everything was covered very quickly in this story. The writing wasn’t flowing, but more short and quick. It could be either the author’s writing style, or written this way specifically for this story. The plot was a bit predictable, nothing that stood out in my mind. I give this 3 Stars.
