In a way, I think a lot of this book was fabricated, over exaggerated, or completely made up. I also don't like that he tried to excuse his racism. ( ) This book was sad, and hilarious both at the same time - much like Shane's videos. It didn't much help that I read this book in my head using his voice............... The only fault in this book was that I wish there were better year stamps on the chapters, a timeline in which the chapters were placed or some type of order - it bounced around a lot and I was like, what, we're back to that time......confusing at times - but no less great - I mean sad and depressing. Is this high literature? 'Course not, not even close, but for what it is it's totally worth it, Shane is a really good writer or he has a good editor/ghostwriter maybe, he does write exactly like he would speak, and I like him so that's a good thing. If you don't though you will hate this book, it isn't a serious book but behind all the jokes I do think I got to know a bit of the real Shane, he can't just give up the character, is he's way of dealing with things. I hope he gets his happy ending one day. I Hate Myselfie, written by Shane Dawson is about the struggles that he went through in life. Shane always had a funny personality, many people think that he is fearless and amazing but is shy when the camera is off. In this book it talks about his first experience meeting fans and how it was chaos and weird. Shane talks about his first high school play and how he played a tourist that had only one line "who's hungry". Shane also made a movie "Not Cool" and a short film about the high school play. Shane's parents divorced when he was nine and he talks about life with only one parent and two brothers. Shane Dawson has had a rough start to life but it always gets better. I Hate Myselfie is an amazing book that anyone could relate to. I would recommend this book if you like reading books about people. That are treated like a celebrity but are just like you. I absolutely loved this book I read it in 3hrs and couldn't put it down it was so good. Through time I have fell in love with YouTube and the people who play the roles as YouTubers. I still think it's crazy sharing everything thing about yourself to a camera that reaches every millions of people. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
