A dark comedy from the National Bestselling Author of Veronica Mars, Fast Times at Neptune HighAn epic battle is being fought between dying gods and supernatural creatures--and the world is caught in the middle. The last five gods band together in a desperate attempt to save themselves--and humanity--and everything gets weird. A clueless mortal is caught up in a madcap world of disco-obsessed kung fu vampires, werewolves having bad hair days, teenaged archangels, and the most unlikely combination of surviving gods ... all of whom discover that they aren't the things that go bump in the night! This quirky, irreverently dark urban fantasy will leave you laughing--nervously--at the monsters hiding under your bed! Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

In this instacne it seems that most of the old golds have beenkilled and only a handul remain - Loki being the chief protagonist. Although Lillith has been elevated to godhood. This is confusing as there are also a bunch of active vampires split into at least two sects, with Kaine somewhere in the background. And werewolves although they seem to be the weakest race with no god level patron. Some other races are mentioned as being still existent, but either hiding or fled. God as usually known doesn't feature but there are real angels. Although no devils.
We follow a bunch of these characters around, jumping rapidly from one to another for short action scenes. Apparently there's some form of prophecy regarding a werewolf and a vampire that could effect the future of many of the remaining immortals and they are all trying to ensure that they survive. And some of the vampires are just out to kill all the others, and then there are Grey Ones (unspecified) about somewhere too. Lots more running about with the various teams not really making any progress as we jump through time to the present day (why? what's special about this decade rather than any other), eventually leads to a couple of big fights, and then it's all left for the sequels with no-one (including the reader) any the wiser as to what was going on.
From the 'forthcoming books' at the back it looks like this is the cornerstone of at least three intersects series' following some of the characters' futures. But I CBA to read them unless the writing and the plotting get a lot better. ( )
