This book is about a young girl who has a jar, that used to be filled with the families kimchi meal. She used to always play with her best friend. After the sad news of her best friend moving away her brother tried to cheer her up by finding things to put in her jar. She fills is with different animals and creates an imagination of joining into their world and looking for her best friend. I think this book is great for a young age to read. It helps show the Asian culture with introducing the food and how they ate it in a jar. This book has great imagination and relatable imagination for kids to look at and read. This book is overall very fun and interesting for a kid to read. It is about a girl who has a jar, that previously contained kimchi, and plays with her best friend. I really enjoyed this book. The story is sweet and the illustrations are so cute and unique. They are watercolors and perfectly follow the adventure and creativity of the writing of this book. I think this would be a great book for primary students and good to have in the classroom to ensure there are multiple cultures present.
