I was given the third book of this series to read for an honest review through netgalley. I loved it so much I actually picked up the first two books. I loved Lex and Kells story so much.

Action, strong lead characters, good values, magic and sexiness -- all stuff for an excellent book -- and Rebecca Zanetti knows her stuff. Immediately I was engaged with the characters and the story in "Wicked Ride." A family of Irish witches is sent to America to find and stop the source of a deadly new drug. They run headlong into Seattle PD doing the same. These new characters smoothly continued the story began in "Dark Protectors" and included characters from this previous series. Now the focus is on drugs, not surviving a major war anymore. Great writing, super dialogue, hot but rocky romance

The plot and paranormal politics was great, the characters were more of a mixed bag.

This is a paranormal romance - there is a motorcycle club, but the motorcycle club is a backdrop to the larger paranormal plot. The paranormal plot (about the origins and dangers of a drug called Apollo) continues throughout the series and is not resolved in this book, though the Alexandra/Kellach love story is decently resolved in this book.

As for the characters, Alexandra was a difficult character to swallow. Outside of this book she'd be a horrible cop. She jumps to conclusions. She's the type of cop who believes that, because she has a badge, she can threaten people or arrest them without due cause. Saying that some of the things she does as a cop are an example of police brutality wouldn't be a stretch.

Kellach was much more interesting me, as an immortal witch and enforcer who has a long backstory.

Main characters in a romance don't have to be perfect by any means, but I feel like they shouldn't be frustrating to read about, and they should be fairly likeable. Alexandra is tolerable to me but I feel like she should be a bit more than that as a romance protagonist.

The Realm Enforcers series is a spin-off of Dark Protectors. I feel like you can start the Realm Enforcers series here without much issue, though you might have a fuller reading experience if you start with Dark Protectors.

The book is steamy and there is violence, though this isn't a particularly dark romance.

This was an easy escape-read with engaging characters and interesting world-building, with a story that kept me turning pages. As much as I don't like that Zanetti's couples tend toward insta-lust and insta-love, from what I've seen, her worlds and writing suck me in well enough that I can get past that one complaint. There were some moments here that were over-the-top, but as a paranormal romance to fall into and escape with for a bit, it was just what the moment called for, and in general, I do enjoy Zanetti's writing style.

As the start to a paranormal romance series, I'd say it's above average, at least, and should appeal to readers of paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and MC romance since it brings the three subgenres together pretty darn smoothly. ( )

First book in the Realm Enforcers. A spin off from The Protector series. Paranormal romance.
A cop, a motorcycle club, an Irishman, and a murder start this series off fast and furious.

Fast moving, hot, and sexy.
The heroine is very independent and asserts she can take care of herself over and over. She does, but she is in over her head without even realizing these are not your average males. And talk about steamy - oh yeah.
Typical domination tactics by this author but it’s still pretty hot.

I will definitely read the rest of this series. ( )

I really enjoyed this book. A nicely complicated world with lots of potential for intrigue and complex characters. I might wish that Lexi kicked a little harder against his little "accident" but the dialogue was witty enough and the sex hot enough to make that less of a quibble than I might find it in a thinner book. I will definitely be reading more of these. ( )
