The author presents a complete plan for beginning and expanding a religious relationship with the gods of ancient Greece. The book includes basic descriptions of the deities and their qualities and a basic ritual script based on what we know of traditional practices. The series of rituals is based on the Athenian calendar, the only local calendar of which we have extensive knowledge. Mierzwicki suggests that the aspirant begin with a monthly cycle of ritual and then expand to the annual cycle, keeping careful records of practice and reactions. He suggests adaptions to modern lifestyles in consideration of the fact that few people have wine with every meal and that animal sacrifice is no longer practiced or accepted. Guide to pronunciation, bibliography and glossary included. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
