Setting and tone similar to Avatar the Last Airbender, but it's historical fiction, instead of fantasy. Would probably appeal to fans of Zita because of the action and clever, loyal protagonists. ( ) Fans of Faith Erin Hicks won't be disappointed with this new book, the first in a planned series for kids about a city that has been conquered and renamed so many times, its inhabitants call it The Nameless City. This book has tons of heart and the artwork is fantastic. There's a strong sense of movement as main characters Kai and Rat are depicted tearing through the city at top speed, running and jumping from rooftop to rooftop. The story is good, and positive messages abound. So far, most of the characters aren't that complicated, but I think we'll see more depth as the series progresses. There's lots to love here for both kids and adults. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
