This was just okay for me. I really liked Holly as she was and didn't really need a reason for her to be so free sexually. There was nothing that really stuck out for me romance wise. The hero had some not so sterling moments that somehow should have had more angst for me but ultimately just didn't. A good read but not going to be a reread for me. ( )

Holly Bradshaw wakes up in a hotel room naked, lying in a pool of blood. She realizes she has been drugged and the dead man is Sasha Dudaev, the man she was setting up for surveillance by the CIA. When she is taken to the hospital, she is visited by her friends from the paper where she is an entertainment reporter, which is her day job, and their significant others all connected in some way to law enforcement. They all tell her she is lucky to be alive, but she knows that more than any of them because she stole secrets from Dudaev's safe before she fell victim to the drug. Nick Andris was sure that Holly was nothing more than eye candy for Dudaev until he begins a relationship with her and discovers that there may be more to her than he originally thought.
The mystery surrounding the events of Batumi two years before enhances the story of possible traitors in the CIA who might be trying to kill Nick and Holly. The "who" involved in betraying Nick is an unexpected twist near the end of the book. The main characters and their romance are believable if a bit far-fetched, but overall The Seduction Game is another good entry in the I-Team series. ( )

So much fun and entertaining. Definitely the story/hero I think we were all waiting and wanting for our Holly. I would say this had more suspense than actual romance but done so well I didn't mind. Four stars because the overall story was extremely well done but Holly waxing poetic over how hot her friends' husbands were (I know added to help summarize the previous books and refresh memories) didn't jive with me personally and the tangent dealing with her creepy father felt forced in and wasn't flushed out enough to have a big emotional impact.
Still, Clare's writing is amazing and her world and characters will suck you in. I hope to see some Cobra boys coming down the tailpipe soon :) ( )

Seduction Game
4 Stars

With her less than stellar reputation for bed hopping and clothes shopping, entertainment writer, Holly Elise Bradshaw, is the person least likely to be suspected of treason. Yet, someone at the CIA is convinced that Holly is working with a Georgian arms dealer and sends Officer Nick Andris to deal with the problem … permanently.

Pamela Clare's I-Team series has everything a lover of romantic suspense could want - incredible alpha heroes, intelligent kickass heroines, steamy sex scenes and action-packed plot lines. Seduction Game is the latest, and apparently last, full-length installment in a series that has captivated me from one book to the next (except, unfortunately, for Striking Distance , which is a favorite of many but a DNF for me as it contained two of my most despised tropes the heroine is raped and has a baby with the rapist).

Holly's character has been around from the beginning as the shallow yet sweet shoe-living gossip who is always handy in a make-up crisis. Consequently, it is a little hard to believe that this has all been a cover and she is in fact Zena, Warrior Princess. For many readers, this will require a healthy dose of suspension of disbelief.

Nevertheless, the "kidnap and on-the-run" storyline (similar to Marc and Sophie's book, but with its own unique twist) is entertaining and it is fun trying to figure out who the real traitor is.

Moreover, Holly and Nick's love-hate-love romance is exciting and they have incredible chemistry. One minor issue that puts a slight damper on their relationship is the fact that Nick is still in love with his murdered fiancée - a woman who was perfect in every way. While Nick obviously loves Holly, one does question whether she is the consolation prize.

In sum, a charming and satisfying end to the I-Team series. It is highly recommended that the books be read in order, however, as all of the previous couples put in an appearance here. Catching up with them is, of course, an added bonus.

Secrets, lies, betrayal and shocking revelations are just a part of what goes on in this latest from Pamela Clare.

I've come to expect a great story from Ms Clare but knowing what she went through during the writing of this book makes it that much more amazing.

To keep from accidentally divulging any spoilers all I am going to say is everything you thought you knew about Holly Bradshaw from all the previous I-Team books is wrong. The hero is this one is someone we had not met before, Nick Andris who works for the CIA and in reading this book my feelings havent changed about the CIA – shadiest group of people that always has a traitor or two in its mist.

I've enjoyed all the I-Team books and this was no exception. Looking forward to the Christmas I-Team novella coming soon. ( )
