This was a whole whooping lot of fun.
This was FUN, in a very understated well-worded way. ( )

This is a perfect addition to the "fake boyfriend" trope. Everything I want from this trope (and most of what I want from a Sterek - it is PG and could have been at least Mature).

Synopsis if you want it:Post Season 3A (the Sheriff is clued in - may be post season 4, because there is a reference to Parrish being supernatural, but really nothing else from season 4). Stiles' POV. The Sheriff is trying to get Stiles to recruit Derek as a Deputy, Derek keeps brushing him off, but doesn't supply much of a reason until Stiles works it out of him that he never finished high school after the fire. Stiles, in Stiles fashion, decides to help Derek get his GED. So they start spending a lot of time studying together, by spending so much time together, the pack starts to think they are dating. Derek is embarrassed that he didn't graduate so to cover what they are doing they just go along with what everyone assumes. This leads to a really great plot device: Stiles and Derek are their usual bantering selves in this fic and their friends expect them to act a certain way since they're a "couple", so basically a game of chicken in the PDA department starts between the two, which is not only comical it heats things up fast.

This is well written, but even more - well balanced. Sweet without being saccharine, a touch of angst without biting, comical without being a comedy, sexy without the sex (but still some yummy scenes), emotional without being dramatic.

The writing is super witty - there is a whole conversation that takes places where Stiles is talking about studying Math, Physics and Chemistry, and as the reader you know what he is talking about and it makes total sense. But the pack believes he is talking about he and Derek - and in that context everything Stiles says also makes total sense. I was giggling to myself and thinking really how well done the word choices and writing flowed in this to make it ironically comical.

And throughout the fic, Stiles keeps thinking about his "genius kink" - which is so endearing.

Sure, it turns out he's bitingly smart in a way that has led to more than one fantasy about Derek pinning him naked to a bed and growling postmodernist theories into his bared throat.

Easy enjoyable Sterek. Definitely recommend, especially to those who love the "fake boyfriend" trope. Will pull at your heartstrings and put a smile on your face.
