Like the first two books of the series, I did not like the contrast between emphasizing that their blood because it was nobility and good could carry on a great name and that of the Christian dialogue reflecting Christ's need to save. Seemed contradictory in theme and purpose. It seemed better than the other two in showing that it wasn't the blood lines, but the heritage of Christ and what He did through the people that make the blood line seem good. But that seemed a minor issue, after the bloodlines emphasis. I finished the book with difficulty. This story opens with Lady Joanna coming to Hillary Edwards and telling her that she is her lost granddaughter who was presumed dead. The intrigue continues when she faces her parents and finds that another "daughter" has come to claim her place in the last 3 months after Lady Joanna dies. Logan calls his brother-in-laws friend to help him determine who is the true heir. The duties of Parliament uncovers criminal activities in a huge firm that has previously been thought spotless, all of which leads them to Logan's and Allison's wartime and family enemies. Particularly poignant is the forgiving of the enemies despite their refusal to let go of old grudges. The "treasure" is recovered, but is it the treasure you think it is? Pella and Phillips concluding this series with all the seams nicely sewn up and a satisfying and happy ending. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
