A missing duke leads a man on an adventure into uncharted territory. In more ways then one. A friendship turned sour leads to a contentious relationship and an awakened attraction that neither saw coming but are finding it harder to resist. Jennifer Haymore creates a hot-tempered adventurous couple with Caro and Markus. Pride is what has turned them to enemies, maybe close quarters and fate can help them become more. An Affair in Autumn is story of healing and romance that is witty and magnetic. An entertaining draw. ( ) Friends in the past separated by marriage, misunderstanding and several years without seeing one another, Caro and Mark meet again in England before setting off on what will become the common mission of finding Nate, their childhood friend and the next Duke of Beckworth. Caro and Mark have always felt something for one another but never really realized what it was or what it could ultimately lead to – their happily ever after. Sailing on a ship to America will provide them with plenty of time to become reacquainted while spending quality time together. By the end of the journey their relationship has changed significantly, they find Nate and send him back to fulfill his role as Duke. Nate and Lizzie are mentioned as the next and final segment of this wonderful sequence of stories revolving around A Year Without a Duke. I have never read any of Ms Haymore’s books but after reading this novella I am definitely going to see if I can find more to read in the future!
