The greatest thing about this story, among several important things like cyber relationships, mental health, respecting boundaries and so on, is the unlikely pairing, and how well it works. The hurdles feel real, and I cried when Kai finally talked -- well, you'll probably know what point I cried for when you read it.

Connections happen in all kinds of weird ways, online is different only in that it really does enable more sharing through written words, appealing to a swath of humanity who in past times had much more limited and time-consuming options, if there were any options at all. We live in an explosion of new connections and it is about time we celebrated that. ( )

I'm really stuck in a rut reading wise so I felt like it was time to crack open the Cyberlove series again, as I flew through them when I first read them. This was still enjoyable, even though it's still not all that believable. As far as angsty fluff goes, though, this is quite sweet and entertaining.

I picked this up because I wanted something semi-light, fast, fun, hot and decently written. This isn't a literary master piece, but this delivered everything I was after at the moment.

Easily read in one day, didn't drag at any point, and the authors worked well as a team, so no awkward style shifts or the like. The characters were relatable to my introverted self and for some reason I enjoy books that mix IM formatted dialogue in the text so this was nice on that account as well.

I'm not too keen on how easy it was for Kai to start managing his anxiety, but I'm sure that's not the only unrealistic aspect of this book so I'll look past it.

Will definitely pick up the next part when I next feel like a fast paced palate cleanser. ( )

This book had my hands glued to my iPad. Kind of strange given that it is a slow burning romance. Not taboo or forbidden. Not even kinky really. Totally surprised me! There is so much to be said for how Erickson and Hassell wrote this. They nailed this long distance love story! The way they showcased the growing relationship between Garrett and Kai made the distance between them almost irrelevant. In a way, the distance took the place of an element of forbidden love. i.e. ‘I want you but you’re so far away, so I can’t have you’.

This book provoked multiple moments of spontaneous smiling. I loved it!

Side note: I worried (needlessly) that the whole long distance thing would lead to a mild story with minimal sex. I was so wrong. The heat and passion between Garrett and Kai could melt phone lines.

I am removing all of SH's and ME's unread books from my shelves as I will not be reading anything by these authors anymore.
