Footprints by Philomena Liggins is a very short novel set during WW II at Bletchley Park and is about two girls in particular who worked there as code breakers. Through their story of friendship and loyalty the author is able to describe Bletchley Park and the various clandestine activities that took place there. I picked this book up because I needed a book that dealt with cryptography for a reading challenge and this one fit the requirements.

This is a short, simple story and not one that I can particularly recommend. In fact, I doubt it will be one that I will even be able to remember a short time from now. The writing was not particularly good, nor did it flow smoothly. The story was based on true events and so was very factual, but neither the story nor the characters were developed beyond the basic.
