This book was about a mouse who was a knight who did not believe in fighting. As he went across the land, he defeated his foes by telling them stories from his books. Overall, this was a cute story that could be great for primary readers. This could be used as a book in the classroom library, or as a read-aloud book in connection to the ideas of peace and fighting. You could also talk to students about the impact of words! What a wonderful book to read to children who are learning to read or to reluctant readers. Leo the knight does not want to fight anyone or anything, he just wants to read. When his parents want him to go and "tame" a dragon they give him a new sword and shield. Leo, chooses to take a pile of books with him on his quest. As he meets various creatures on his trip, a griffin, a troll and of course a dragon, he reads them a book that stars themselves. The creatures love the books and Leo gives them the books to keep so they can re-read them over and over. The dragon must clean up his mess before Leo will read to him, which he does. When Leo returns, he is a hero and is left alone to read to his content. This story is told in wonderful rhyme which makes it very catchy and the illustrations are wonderfully vibrant and detailed. This is a book that belongs in every elementary school library! I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and Sourcebooks Jabberwocky in exchange for an honest review. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
