Business. Careers. Nonfiction. Economics. HTML:Have you ever met someone with the perfect job?
To the outside observer, it seems like they've won the career lottery??that by some stroke of luck or circumstance they've found the one thing they love so much that it doesn't even feel like work??and they're getting paid well to do it.
In reality, their good fortune has nothing to do with chance. There??s a method for finding your perfect job, and Chris Guillebeau, the bestselling author of The $100 Startup, has created a practical guide for how to do it??whether within a traditional company or business, or by striking out on your own.
Finding the work you were ??born to do? isn??t just about discovering your passion. Doing what brings you joy is great, but if you aren??t earning a living, it??s a hobby, not a career. While it didn't give me the eureka moment I had hoped for, there's some good questions in here for me to think on. The book itself is readable and has a good flow but a couple of times the author repeats himself word for word which made me stop and wonder if I'd already read it. That kept this book away from 4 stars. ( )

Somewhat inspiring, if not especially groundbreaking or original. Encouraged me to *just pick something* and move forward. ( )

Do you know what
you were born to do?
or better yet,
do you know
what's the meaning and
what's the purpose
of your precious life?

If you don't know
how to answer
these two questions,
and you feel lost and confused,
then this book is the next best thing
that should be on your to-read shelf
or on a bookshelf in your house,

for it will help you see
a much bigger picture of your life,
and it will help you find your meaning
and find your purpose in a very profound way.

You will see whilst reading it,
that you deserve a whole lot more
in your life, that you deserve to live
your craziest and wildest
and most impossible dreams
like many people featured
in this book are living them today.

So pick this book right up,
for by reading it,
you will learn so many new things,
and so many great life lessons
that will only benefit your life
in a truly positive way,
and help you see that
with the right idea,
in your beautiful mind,
nothing is impossible. ( )

This seemed like a really good mix of practical and theoretical. It asked for some engagement and thinking from the reader, but not for the reader to do all sorts of exercises (as many books of this type do). I feel like it did stimulate my thinking and has helped me get on the right path. ( )
